Berneita “Trouble” Ragless, died Sept. 22, 2007, at the home of her son, Terry, surrounded by her family.
She was born April 3, 1921, in Lenawee County, Mich., and was adopted by Martin and Florence Coy in 1922. She married Henry Ragless on Aug. 8, 1940, in Jasper, Mich. He preceded her in death July 27, 1990.
Berneita graduated from Adrian High School in 1938, and attended Bob Jones College. She was a member of the Weston Baptist Church and the Jasper Bible Church. She was a member of the Jasper Rebekah Lodge and was Grand Nobel in 1995. She was also a member of the Fairfield Fire Department Auxiliary Flamettes and was very active with the Angus farm, showing cattle with her family for over 30 years.
Berneita is survived by four sons, Thomas of Weston, Mich., Terry (and Kathy) of Adrian, David (and Diane) of Van Buren, Ohio, and Timmie (and Deborah), also of Weston; three daughters, Jacqueline (and Frank) Barlow of Coeburn, Va., Brenda (and Jason) Rice of Huntington, Ind., and Nancy (and James) Saunders of Bakersfield, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sandra Lea in infancy; a grandson in infancy; and a son, Gregory in 1999.
Funeral services are scheduled at 3 p.m. Thursday at Anderson Funeral Home in Adrian with pastors Bruce and Lloyd Jewett officiating. Burial will follow in Packard Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Anderson Funeral Home.
