Keith ‘Corky’ Curey

Keith ‘Corky’ Curey, 56, of Apopka, Fla., formerly of Morenci, died Sept. 2, 2007, after a long battle with cancer.

He was born April 10, 1951. He married Cindy Garrow, and she survives.

Corky was a Vietnam veteran, and was a member of the Morenci Fire Department for 25 years. He moved to Florida in 1973, and retired from the Orange County Public Schools transportation department. He was a member of the American Legion, DAV and VFW, and the Westside Community Church.

Besides his wife, Corky is survived by one son, Cameron, at home; two daughters, Kim Curey of Fayette and Kelly (and Joe) Kimling of Madeira, Ohio; three grandsons; one granddaughter; brothers, Ken (and Cathy) Curey of North Carolina, and R.D. (and Lou) and Andy Curey, both of Florida; two sisters-in-law, Cheryl (and Okey) Howard of Fayette, and Rosemary (and Larry) Dickerson of Morenci; a brother-in-law, Barry (and Joy) Garrow of Morenci; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is scheduled Sept. 8 at Westside Community Church in Apopka, Fla. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morenci Fire Association.
