When Fayette’s new tax administrator starts work Nov. 11, she’s going to have some extra help from the person who knows the job better than anyone.
Fayette village council members met for a special session Wednesday and voted to hire Dee (Potter) Lawrence for an undetermined period of time to work with the new employee, Genna Biddix. Lawrence started work Monday in an attempt to catch up on a backlog of tasks.
Lawrence is considered an independent contractor and will be paid $20 an hour. Council met in a closed session for about 90 minutes to discuss the hiring.
BRUSH—The week of Nov. 18 is the final time this year for brush collection by village workers. After that date, only leaves will be picked up. Residents are invited to take brush or leaves to the collection area near the creek.
