Morenci Area Chamber of Commerce members are selling tickets for a reverse raffle with a top prize of $6,000.

The fund-raiser offers 250 tickets at a cost of $100 each, including a buffet dinner and an open bar. The event is scheduled Feb. 22, 2014, at the Ramada Inn near Montpelier, Ohio.

Five $100 prizes will be issued along with 13 larger cash prizes plus the grand prize winner. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win.

To buy a ticket, contact Bob Walton, Les Tompkins, Kent Deatrick or Pearl Phelps. Tickets are also available in many Chamber member stores.

SUMMER BALL—Little League president Tim Decker thanked Chamber members for their support of the program. He said that participation increased from 146 in 2012 to 196 in 2013.

Decker said a Morenci Party Day is planned for ball players at a Toledo Mud Hens game. The cost is $13 for a ticket, a drink and a hot dog.

Chamber member Rosemary Dickerson thanked Decker for volunteering to take charge of the summer ball program this year.

CONCESSIONS—The Chamber made a profit of $652 by operating the park concession stand during the Town and Country Festival.

Les Tompkins and Pearl Phelps organized the operation of the stand.

MEMBER UPDATES—The Morenci American Legion is offering a new menu (see the ad in this week’s Observer); the Garden Club is selling mums for Sept. 20 delivery; and a “cash mob” is planned at Collector’s King at 5 p.m. Aug. 7.
