Fayette Local Schools have a full board of education in place following the appointment of a new member Monday night.
Trent Dominique was chosen to fill a vacancy through the end of the school year, replacing Karen King who announced her impending resignation in April. Dominique will be required to seek election to the board in the November vote if he wishes to continue serving.
Dominique was the only person to submit a letter of interest to serve on the board by the listed deadline, although one person responded after the deadline. The board also considered three people who didn't officially apply but expressed interest in joining the board.
Board members discussed the candidates Monday during a closed session before returning to the public forum to make the appointment.
Dominique is a lifelong Fayette resident and has two children attending school. He is employed by Toledo Edison.
King was honored for her five years on the board of education.
