Noelle Goodson has performed the Star Spangled Banner several times while a student at Fayette High School, but only in front of a crowd that fits inside the small gymnasium.

The senior took her vocal talents to a new level March 23 when she sang the nation anthem before a crowd of more than 10,000 people at the start of the boys basketball Div. IV championship game in Ohio State University's Schottenstein Center in Columbus.

Noelle said it was a great experience and she enjoyed the "royal treatment" shown by the OSU staff. Her family also received tickets and had the opportunity to watch the final game between Leispic and St. Joseph.

Noelle recently found out about another opportunity to sing the national anthem in “The Stand and Be Heard” singing contest and she plans to enter. The four finalists win a college scholarship along with a trip to Nashville.
