When spring break is over for Morenci Area Schools, the board of education offices may be in a new location.
School board members and the administrative staff have discussed moving the board office to vacant space in the high school, and that action is now underway, said Superintendent of Schools Michael Osborne.
Secondary principal Kelli Campbell operates from an office in the middle school building and during the current school year, the high school office was closed.
“We have been receiving very positive feedback regarding moving the board office to the former high school office,” Osborne said.
There are two reasons for making the change.
“We can reduce the costs of the current board office building and having more adults in the high school area provides additional supervision,” Osborne said.
It’s possible the move will be completed next week while the school is closed during the spring break.
