An informational meeting about Fayette's request for two replacement levies is scheduled at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 at the high school.
A short presentation is planned to give information about the vote and to explain why the money the levies bring in is needed by the village.
If passed by voters in November, the replacement would bring the value of two existing levies up to current property value levels.
One levy is for park programs; the other increase will be used to fund a village-wide street resurfacing project. Streets not torn up through next year's sewer project would be paved. Streets affected by the sewer work will be resurfaced as part of the project.
Fayette village administrator Steve Blue told council last week he expects to apply for the release of funds for the sewer project Oct. 5. This will allow the village to seek bids for the work. Bids are expected to be opened and read Oct. 13 and awarded in late October or early November.
