A former Morenci man was sentenced in Fulton County for fleeing police after he stole a vehicle last March.

Frederick Allen, 24, was sentenced to 18 months in prison following his conviction for failing to comply with the order or signal from a police officer.

On March 10, 2012, Allen stole a vehicle parked in front of the Eagle Funeral Home in Morenci and drove into Fulton County. A sheriff’s department deputy observed the vehicle moving erratically on the road and started following it.

The pursuit of the vehicle finally ended near Toledo Express Airport in Lucas County when the car struck a utility pole and rolled over several times.

Three law enforcement agencies were involved in the incident.
