An area Lenawee County Commissioner has decided to seek another term.

Cletus Smith, who represents Seneca, Dover, Madison and Fairfield townships, announced this week he will seek a second term in office.

“The goals and commitments that I set for my first term have been started in the right direction, but there is still work to be done,” Smith said.  “As commissioner I will continue to work for you on these and other needs. My goals as commissioner have been and will continue to be economic growth, controlled spending and public safety.”

The longtime Lenawee County resident has lived in three of the four townships that he represents.

Smith volunteers time with the Meals on Wheels program, works with the Department on Aging Commodities Distribution and is a board member of Lenawee County Mission. He previously served on the Boys and Girls Club of Lenawee board.

Smith said that while focusing on District 4, he will continue to represent all of the people of Lenawee County.

Smith can be contacted by calling 517/920-4208 or by sending e-mail to [email protected]
