The Fulton County Township Association recently donated funds to two local charities.
A $500 check was presented to Bob Yano, volunteer director of Fayette’s Helping Hands Food Pantry.
Helping Hands provides food, personal hygiene products and money for gas, electric and water bills to between 500 and 600 people each month.
Helping hands is located at 103 W. Main St. in Fayette, and is open from 1 to 4 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays each month.
A $500 check was also presented to C.A.S.T.—Caring and Sharing Together—in the Evergreen School District. C.A.S.T. consists of eight congregations in the Evergreen Interfaith Assoc. that distribute groceries and offer financial assistance for basic essentials.
A grocery distribution is offered at the Metamora United Methodist Ministry Center. Volunteers from local churches manage the distribution.
