Community Thanksgiving meals are planned in Morenci and Fayette this month, with each location offering a traditional meal with all the fixings.
All area residents are invited to the high school cafeteria on Thanksgiving Day for a meal and companionship for the holiday. There is no charge, but donations are accepted.
To help with planning, guests are urged to make a reservation by calling Jim and Judy Heiney at 517/458-6869 by Nov. 18. Delivery to shut-ins is available by calling the same number.
Volunteers are needed to help with preparation, serving and clean-up. Call Rosemary at 458-7511 or Renée at 458-6829 to join the list of workers.
The meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event is sponsored by the Morenci Ministerial Association.
Fayette’s United Methodist Church has scheduled a community meal from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thanksgiving Day.
Reservations are not necessary, but for delivery of meals, call 419/237-2974 to make arrangements.
“We’re all set with volunteer help,” said Rev. Kathy Currier. “We just need people to come and eat.”
Church members are planning another community dinner on Christmas Day.
