Morenci Halloween party set 2011.10.19

Posted in 2011 October

Come and get it.

Doughnuts, cookies, cider, hot chocolate, a few scares—oh, and $500 of Morenci Money.

There will be plenty to eat and things to do and win Saturday night at Wakefield Park at the Morenci Area Chamber of Commerce Haunted Park and Hay Ride event.

Activities for younger kids begin at 6 p.m. with pumpkin painting and candy give-aways. Older children can walked through a spook house or try out the straw maze.

At dusk, a bonfire will be lit and the Haunted Hayride will begin. A wagon will transport guests into the north, undeveloped portion of the park where unexpected frights await.

A drawing is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. when $500 of Morenci Money will be given away. The grand prize is for $100 and the remained of the money will be given in smaller denominations.

Winners will have 24 hours to spend their special dollars at any Chamber member store. After that, the bills will become worthless.

Chamber members stores will continue to give away entry blanks this week—one entry ticket for each $5 worth of a purchase. Entries should be taken to the park Saturday night where they will be placed in the drawing barrel. You must be present to win.

Last year’s Halloween event and drawing drew an enormous crowd to Wakefield Park and Chamber members are hoping to make it even better in this second year.

Anyone willing to volunteer time should call Trish at the Pizza Box (458-7166) or Jennifer at First Federal Bank (458-2296).
