The Fayette Local Board of Education attended to some start-of-the-year business during a short meeting Monday.
FFA trips to the Greenhand Camp at Camp Muskingum Sept. 25-27 and to the national convention in Indianapolis Oct. 19-22 were approved by the board.
The board authorized Geneen Wise to transport the Greenhand members to their camp.
Gloria Baker and Lynne Landolt were approved as substitute bus drivers, pending certification and a background check. Classroom volunteers were also approved, pending background checks.
Suzette Boesger was approved as the National Honor Society advisor and Sarah Altstaetter will serve as Quiz Bowl advisor.
The board approved an addition to the coaches handbook relating to coach-athlete relations.
CONTRACTS—Contracts were approved with Fulton County Health Center Sports Medicine Outreach to provide athletic training consultation and/or treatment services at a rate of $17.50 per hour.
A contract was also approved with Wood County Juvenile Detention Center and Juvenile Residential Center of Northwest Ohio in the amount of $60 per day at the JDC and $50 long-term care daily rate at the JRC. Fees would be paid only if needed during the school year.
A contract with TRECA was accepted to provide on-line educational programs and support for the district.
SOLAR—The board approved a request by superintendent Russ Griggs to continue a fact-finding effort with Energy Solutions Partners regarding a solar collector field on the school grounds.
