Morenci bowler Jeff Shadbolt is moving closer to where he wants to be—in the cash prize side of competition.
Shadbolt recently competed in the Dan Ottman Memorial Classic PBA event in Sterling Heights, Mich., and finished 24th. The top 18 finishers received money.
“On a demanding lane condition, I had 1,651 or 206.3 a game,” Shadbolt said. “Solid day, just no money back.”
He traveled to the Budweiser Team Classic at Nortel Lanes in Monroe, Mich., with the Lenawee County Bowling Association team members and paced the team with a three-game total of 780. The team series score of 3,528 was good enough for third place in the four-month-long tournament.
“We received $625 for our effort, but first place received $4,000,” Shadbolt said. That would have been a nice payday.”
