Ivy Hutchison was given another four-year seat on the Morenci Board of Education while Laura Spencer earned her first term on the board.

With only two candidates for two positions, voter turnout was extremely low. Statistics from the county elections department put turnout at less than three percent.

Hutchison garnered 74 votes and Spencer was given 79.

The homestead tax renewal for second residences passed by a 74-10 margin.

Spencer will take her seat on the board at the June meeting, replacing Dwight Mansfield who is stepping down after 20 years on the school board.

OHIO—Gorham Township voters approved a five-year 0.5 mill renewal for operation of Pleasant View Union Cemetery, 61-21. Voter turnout was just about 5 percent.

Lyons residents voted 21-5 in favor of a five-year 3.0 mill renewal for current operating expenses. The 26 votes equals 6.2 percent of registered voters.

Fulton County residents favored a five-year 2.0 mill renewal for EMS medical services, 3,310-1,212.
