ODOT to trim trees along South Fayette Street

Posted in 2011 April

A tree-trimming project is planned along South Fayette Street in Fayette by the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Steve Trausch from the ODOT office in Wauseon expected the job to begin this week, but delays might push the project into next week.

The purpose of the trimming is to eliminate some overhanging branches that prevent evaporation of moisture on the pavement.

If the pavement doesn’t dry, Trausch said, the bituminous asphalt material will eventually start to break up.

Trausch said the trimming project involves only a few trees and should take no longer than an hour.
