Volunteers sought in Fayette 023.16.2011

Posted in 2011 March

Youth groups and other community organizations are often looking for a good service project and the Village of Fayette has a few suggestions to offer.

Two opportunities are available immediately and a third will get going in the summer.

• RECYCLING—The recycling center is open from 8 a.m. to noon on the second Saturday of the month. Volunteers are needed to help sort items and minimal lifting is required.

• PRIDE—Project Pride is an effort to promote the community by increasing residents’ pride in the town. Volunteers are needed to help neighbors with painting, cleaning, fixing, repairing and beautifying the village.

• SUMMER FOOD—Volunteers are needed to distribute lunches to elementary school children in the park shelter house during the summer work week, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

To volunteer or to obtain more information, call the village office at 237-2116 or write administrator Amy Metz at [email protected]

Volunteers can make a difference, Metz said.
