David Brinegar to lead Fayette school board 01.19.2011

David Brinegar was chosen to lead the Fayette Local Schools for another term as president.

Brinegar was reëlected president at the board’s organization meeting Jan. 11. Kirk Keiser will serve as vice president and the third Monday of the month will continue as the regular meeting date for the board.

Committee assignments for 2011 are:

Legislative liaison, Karen King; Facilities representatives, Keiser and Brinegar; Four County representative, King; Financial/audit representatives, Brinegar and Deb Leininger; Student achievement liaison, Leininger; Board of education policy representatives, Keiser and Pam Seiler;Village of Fayette representative, Keiser.

DONATIONS—The board accepted an anonymous donation of $250 to purchase FFA jackets in memory of Kellen Keiser; a donation from Penny VanVlerah of a Leblanc Noblet Clarinet, estimated value of $700, for the band department; and a donation of $300 from Fulton County Pork Producers to be used in family consumer science class.

OSBA—Membership with the Ohio School Boards Association was renewed for $3,130.

HONORS—Certificates of appreciation were given to board members in honor of School Board Recognition Month, recognizing members’ leadership and service to public schools.
