Children’s programs at Fayette’s Normal Memorial Library get underway this month.
A new program, the Tween After School Program, is scheduled for students in fifth through eighth grade. The new group will meet for the first time from 3 to 3:45 p.m. Sept. 14, to discuss what days would be best to meet and what activities students are interested in. Participants should bring their ideas to the first gathering.
Children in kindergarten through fourth grade will meet from 3 to 4 p.m. on Thursdays. This month’s activities will include making sculptures with modeling clay and a Bingo party.
If parents would like their child to get off the bus at the library for the after-school program, send a note to school with them.
Story Time, scheduled for children age two through five who are not yet in kindergarten, is scheduled from 6 to 6:30 p.m. on Mondays. An adult is required to stay with children age two and three during the program.
This month, children will register and decorate their Story Time rugs, and learn about hippos and monkeys through stories and crafts.
