Morenci Garden Club meets 08.04.2010

Posted in 2010 August

Morenci Garden Club raised money through a gift auction to support its downtown beautification project.

The auction brought in $84.50 at the club’s July 20 meeting. The funds will go toward next year’s flower basket project.

Club president Betsey Smith led a discussion of the challenges and successes members have experienced this gardening season.  Becky Miller and Lori Drogowski were co-hostesses.

Gary and Shirley Hillard’s residence on M-156 was chosen as Garden of the Month for July.

On July 10, Lois Speed’s Adopt-A-Highway committee (Lori Drogowski, Jane Brasher-Garrow, Edith Dwyer, Becky Miller, Anita Prats, Sandy Cahill, Dianne Grieder and Sharon Bruce) cleaned the club’s stretch of roadway on M-156.

The club has scheduled a dinner meeting Aug. 17. After touring the gardens at the residences of Imelda Magbanua, Anita Prats, Renée Schroeder and Lori Drogowski, members will meet at DeMor Hills Golf Course for a meal. Anyone interested in attending should call Betsey at 458-2423 or Renée at 458-7179.
