This is not going to be your mother’s (or grandmother’s) book club, says Sally Kruger. It’s a new book club for teens.
The first meeting of the Stair Public Library Teen Book Club is scheduled at 2:22 p.m. Monday in the library annex. Any teens entering ninth grade and up are invited to attend.
The main goal of the club is to discuss what everyone is reading, make recommendations to fellow readers, and enjoy some snacks.
Discussion at the first meeting will also involve brainstorming suggestions for future meetings and the possibility of inviting authors for visits or phone chats.
There will be no required reading assignments or mandatory attendance; just come and chat about what you like to read, what you are currently reading, or get some ideas for future reading.
