Swimming, bowling, skating, a matinée at the Rex, a pizza party—those are a few of the events awaiting area children in Morenci’s Summer Day Recreation Program.
Activities get underway Tuesday and continue every Tuesday and Thursday through Aug. 5. The program is based at Wakefield Park, rain or shine, and runs from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
A one-time registration fee of $15 a child covers all of the scheduled activities. All children from age five and older are invited to sign up.
A registration form was published in last week’s Observer and additional copies are available at city hall. A form should be filled out for each member of a family participating.
Registration and payment is requested by Friday to help with planning.
Sherri Dillon is again serving as the program leader. She will be assisted by teen helpers.
Assistant city clerk Diane Varga said a trip to the Toledo Zoo or to Sauder Village might be arranged. Information and costs will be announced later.
