Man dies in collision with bus 01.13.10

A collision with a Morenci school bus resulted in the death of an Adrian man last Wednesday morning.

Kevin Tate, 43, Adrian, was driving a minivan toward Morenci on W. Weston Road when he drove into the rear of the school bus. The accident was reported at 7:40 a.m.

According to the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Department, the bus had just picked up a child southwest of the intersection of W. Weston and Mulberry Road and was beginning to move forward when Tate’s vehicle struck.

No one on the school bus was injured from the impact.

Three people on the scene attempted to revive Tate with CPR but were unsuccessful. He was transported to Bixby Medical Center and pronounced dead.

The sheriff’s department has not determined the cause of the accident. Tate was not wearing a seat belt.

Tate worked for Michigan TBA automotive parts distributing company of Adrian.
