New salon opens 12.16

Leonie Leahy is looking for the best of both worlds in her new Main Street business— stay-at-home motherhood and a home business.

Leahy opened the Sampson & Delilah Salon in late summer in the large house at 403 E. Main St. in Morenci, for many years known as the Kohn home.

The California native has 10 years of salon experience and most recently managed a salon in Wauseon.

With the birth of her son, she gave up that job, knowing that weekend and night work wouldn’t fit in with raising her child. After she and her husband, a Lyons native, moved to Morenci this year, Leahy made the decision to open a one-chair salon in her home.

“Now I can be a stay-at-home mom and arrange for child care when it’s needed,” she said.

She’s wanted to have her own salon for several years and the space worked out well in her new home.

Leahy offers cuts, styling, perms, coloring and waxing by appointment only. Eventually she hopes to establish regular hours.

She can be reached by calling 517/260-5754.
