Posted in 2009 Sept.

Fayette school board members approved three personnel changes, including some extra help for the second grade class.

This year’s second grade class grew larger than expected so board members hired Stacy Wyse to work half a day in that classroom. Wyse was laid off last spring when staff cutbacks were announced.

Second grade enrollment is now in the upper 20s.

Lisa Hintz was hired an an intervention and alternative school instructor, on an as-needed basis, and Chris Hylander was hired as the afternoon van driver for the daily route to Pettisville.

Board members formally accepted a $200,000 Ohio Department of Development grant for the wind turbine project.

DONATIONS—$202 was donated by the Parents Support Group to the senior class and $100 was donated by the Bullthistle Festival committee to the marching band for its participation in the parade.

AGREEMENTS—The board approved a contract with Pepsiamerica to provide products and services in the school through June 20, 2014. In return, the school receives a portion of the sales costs, averaging about $2,500 annually.

Agreements were also accepted with TRECA, a support service providing online courses and education programming, and the MTEPA purchasing association.

TUITION—The tuition rate, following state guidelines, was set at $3,858.
