Several Fayette students will soon be riding in a brand new school bus.

Board members voted Monday at the regular August meeting to accept a four-year lease/purchase with Blue Bird Financial Services for an 84-passenger bus. Delivery is expected by the end of the month.

The purchase price of the bus is $77,447.

There are currently no plans to trade in the district’s oldest bus, said treasurer Kelly Bentley.

Several personnel matters were approved by the board.

Cinda Metcalf was approved as a substitute teacher and Chris Hylander was approved as a substitute van driver.

Seven staff members were listed as certified to drive the school van, providing the annual requirements are met: Todd Mitchell, Molly Graf, Ryan Colegrove, Geoff Gilmore, Brad Raby, Pam Wise and Laura Leininger.

Seven people were listed as substitute bus drivers: Russ Griggs, Rodney Kessler, Steve Hartman, Jon Rupp, LaWonda Keefer, Rod Sommers and Doris Cuff.

Custodial substitutes are Diane Reinking, Wendi Wyatt, Ryan Eberly, Janie Keefer, Doris Cuff and Lisa Rodriguez.

Classified substitutes include study hall monitors Paula Ferguson and Eloise Wyse; secretaries Paula Ferguson, Chris Hylander, Lynette Smith, Michelle Pilbeam and Eloise Wyse; and cafeteria workers Lynette Smith, Kelly Willeman, Diane Reinking, Ryan Eberly, Dana Hanna, Lisa Rodriquez, Michelle Pilbeam, Eloise Wyse, Doris Cuff and Velvet Randall.

ADVISORS—Board members approved paid advisory positions for the 2009-10 school year.

Class of 2010, Kristina Newman and Laura Leininger; Class of 2011, Ryan Colegrove and Rebecca Nelson; Class of 2012, John Keys and Kelly Barkhimer. Instrumental music, John Keys; Vocal music, Kelly Barkhimer; Yearbook, Ryan Colegrove; National Honor Society, Laura Leininger; Art Club, Ryan Colegrove; Quiz Team, Laura Leininger;

Language Club, Alysa Short; Science Club, Kristina Newman; LPDC Chairperson, Suzette Boesger; Prom directors, Kelly Barkhimer and John Keys; Student Council (HS), Sarah Altsteatter; and Student Council (ES), Carrie Ueberroth.

Non-paid advisory positions approved were Class of 2013, Suzette Boesger and Sheila Killam; Class of 2014, Sarah Altstaetter and Barb Bruggeman; Class of 2015, Karen Brown and Sarah Skolmowski.

CREDIT CARD—The board voted to replace three current credit cards and consolidate spending with a single  business credit card through State Bank & Trust. The card will have a $10,000 limit.

NURSE—The board approved an agreement with the Fulton County Health Department for part-time school nurse services. The contract calls for the same level of services at the same cost as last year.
