Karley Schmidt earns top art award 5.13.09

Morenci senior Karley Schmidt won the high school’s Best of Show Award in the Morenci Area School’s art show last weekend.karley_schmidt.jpg

Her top-rated work was also the winner in the recent Lenawee County high school art show.

The Best of Show Award for the middle school was earned by Dusty Kimbrell, and the elementary award went to Veronica Chavez-Taboda.

Leilani Brown earned the Superintendent’s Award and the high school Principal’s Award recipient was Austin Harris.

The middle school Principal’s Award went to Aiden Tompkins and the elementary Principal’s Award was given to Madison Keller.

High school

“Outstanding” awards were earned by Paige Ramsey, Roxanne Shankster, Katelyn Joughin, Austin Harris, Loren Delmonico, Kevin Jankowski, Man Vanscoder and Amy Gillman.

High school students who earned honorable mention awards were Hayli Cox, Phoenix Duncan, Mariah Bovee, Nick Erbskorn, Chelsea Howard, Kathleen Barron, Jay Howard, Matt Hoadley and Mathew Wilson.

Middle school

At the middle school, “Outstanding” awards were earned by Ashley Gill, Shannon Jarrell, Michella Brown, Ashtyn Mathews, Michaela Merillat, Cheyenne Travioli, Madi Gleckler, Allie Hyder, Kenneth Dillon and Demi Powers.

Honorable mention awards were given to Macy Hawkins, Kelsi Kuhn, Levi Pike, Andy Mikuski, Larissa Elliott, Sarena Deck, Ali VanBrandt, Karis Blaker and Austin Sandusky.

Elementary school

“Outstanding” awards were earned by Larkyn Swimmer, Bruce Pratt, Stratyn Speiser, Rachel Brown, Salem Eichler, Bradey Osborn, Madison Keller, Ellen Rock and Mikayla Price.

Honorable mention was given to John Dominique, Kayley Craig, Chase  VanBrandt, Ashley Taylor, Madison Martinez, Aaron Newland, Ryder Price, Sophia Whipple, Jessica Cortez and Kyleigh Tompkins.
