A familiar face will soon be seen in the Fayette Local Schools business office with the hiring of a new treasurer.
Former board of education president Kelly Bentley was hired at a special meeting Monday to serve as the district’s new treasurer.
Bentley will give the customary two-week notice to her current employer and then join the district’s interim treasurer, Deb Ford, to work alongside her while obtaining a license to serve as a school treasurer.
Bentley will need to complete courses in school law and school finances, Ford said, and work as an assistant treasurer for 300 hours.
That process should take about 40 days, Ford said, and then Bentley will be qualified to take over as treasurer.
The position pays an annual salary of $50,000.
Bentley will replace Angel Adamski who recently started working for the Northwood school district.
