Steel drum band to play in Fayette 3.11.09

The final program of the Fayette Artist’s Series season is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Saturday when the Pantasia steel drum band visits.

The steel band is made up of students from Findlay High School. The group plays music for all occasions on steel drums—the national instrument of the island nations of Trinidad and Tobago.

Since forming in 1997, Pantasia has garnered a reputation as an impressive educational and entertaining ensemble.  The group remains in high demand and averages more than 40 performances a year.

Pantasia has given award-winning performances at competitions and entertained audiences in venues ranging from New York City’s Lincoln Center to cruise ships in the Caribbean.

Tickets are on sale for $10, with discounts available for groups of 10 or more and for senior citizens.
