Plummer Scholarship assets transferred 12.10.08

Posted in 2008 December

Seneca Township residents Kiel and Vicki Plummer recently dissolved their private foundation and transferred its assets to the Morenci Education Foundation. The Foundation has invested these assets, including stocks and a money market account, into a new H. Kiel and Vicki M. Plummer Investment Fund with the Smith Barney investment firm.

The Plummers have been very generous to Morenci Area High School graduates, said Morenci Education Foundation president Bill VanValkenburg, and the resources generated from this new investment account will help fund scholarships for deserving graduates for many years.

The Morenci Education Foundation accepts donations in the form of cash, real or personal property, benefits of insurance policies, bequests, memorials and tributes. Attorney Dan Bruggeman, of Adrian, is a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation and can offer assistance in making a contribution.

For more information concerning donations, contact president Bill Van Valkenburg at 517/436-3605, vice president Rosemary Dickerson at 517/458-7511 or treasurer Phil Rubley at 458-2274.
