Black/VanBrandt wedding 11.05.08

Lynette VanBrandt and Dr. Grant Black were united in marriage July 26, 2008, at the Historic Oliver Gardens, Center for History in South Bend, Ind. Rev. James Williams performed the ceremony.

Roseann Miller of Morenci, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Schmidt of Morenci, sister of the bride; friends of the bride, Candice Rance of Bristol, Ind., and Melissa Leman of Forest, Va.; and Jourdan Kruchowski of St. Louis, Mo., cousin of the groom. Caroline Black of Wildwood, Mo., the groom’s niece, was flower girl.

Carrol Black, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Todd Black, of Wildwood, Mo., brother of the groom; and friends of the groom, Ken Mayger of Cumming, Ga., Curtis Campbell of North Mankato, Minn., and Jerome Spivey of Atlanta, Ga. Carter VanBrandt, of Clayton, Mich., the bride’s nephew, was ring bearer.

A luncheon reception followed the ceremony in the gardens.  The newest married and longest married couples were honored during the reception, and guests were entertained by a caricature artist.

The couple honeymooned in the Adirondacks of New York and have made their home in Mishawaka, Ind.

Roseann is the daughter of Barbara (and Jon) Wright of Morenci, and the late Cyril VanBrandt. 

Grant is the son of Carrol and Lorene Black of Maryland Heights, Mo.
