The public is invited to city hall at 6:30 p.m. Thursday to discuss plans for a walking path along the west side of Bean Creek.
Landscape architect Patrick Judd of Conservation Design Forum in Ann Arbor will present a proposed drawing of a walking path and seek public comment on the project.
“Public input is very important in the planning of all proposed park improvements,” said city administrator clerk Renée Schroeder, and she urges residents to take part in Judd’s presentation.
Funding for the design work came through a grant from the Charles Fay Foundation. Actual construction would depend on a recreation grant from another source.
Judd said his company has developed some initial ideas to present Thursday, but no firm design would be created without hearing from Morenci residents.
“The intent of the workshop is to solicit ideas and generate dialogue,” he said.
His plan will show a trail that runs parallel to the river into the newer property north of Wakefield Park. It would then loop around and return to the park.
