Fayette’s graduating class of 1948 met for its 60th class reunion Aug. 29, at the Barn Restaurant in Archbold. The class included 28 seniors, and 10 classmates are now deceased.
Paul Stockburger presented a program which included events and prices from 1948. Several class members toured the old high school which is scheduled to be torn down this fall.
Class members traveled from Georgia, Florida, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Michigan to attend the event. Each graduate gave a summary of their last five years as well as memories from high school.
Graduates in attendance were Betty Balser Brown, Francis Johnson Beat, Colleen Ford Bernath, Darell Blaker, Zale Fether, Doyce Humphrey, Velma Schaffner Jones, Jeanette Kuney Kibler, Doris Beaverson Leininger, Elieen Johnson Meller, Marvel D’Lamater Shockley, Doris Taylor Wright, Paul Stockburger and Robert Winzeler. Doris Gamble Randels, fifth grade teacher, and many spouses also attended.
Classmates unable to attend were Joan Marzolf Ziegler, Howard Keefer, Steve Schultz, Robert Allen and Mary Lou Gallup Ford.
The group decided to meet again in three years.
