Church of Nazarene starts new kids' program 8.20

Parents’ calendars are packed—it’s often hard to even get the entire family together for dinner—so they have to look carefully at every new program offered. Parents want to know what their child will gain by attending and if it’s something their child will want to do week after week.

FaitHWeaVeR FRienDS is a new mid-week program at Morenci Church of the Nazarene that organizers believe will be worth adding to the family calendar.

At FRienDS, kids connect the Christian faith with real life. Children will participate in projects, games and preparing snacks to share with friends. There is also a Surprise Station where kids are always kept guessing.

Each week there is something different including guest speakers, activities, science experiments and building projects. Each week children will apply what they’ve learned by completing a Weekly Challenge which will often be a service project to be completed at home so they will learn to serve others in a practical way.

With a variety of appealing activities, children should look forward to coming week after week, said organizer Tracy Schell. What kid doesn’t like hanging out with friends and having fun?

An informational meeting and ice cream party is planned at 7 p.m. today (Wednesday). Families are invited to make their own banana splits and get a brief overview of FaitHWeaVer FRienDS. Highlights from MEGA Sports Camp will also be shown so families can see what a great time the kids had at the basketball and cheerleading camps.

Families should call the church at 458-7195 to reserve a place for the Aug. 20 meeting so there will be enough ice cream and toppings.
