There’s an all-new discussion group forming at Stair Public Library later this month and you don’t even have to read a book to take part.
What’s it all about?
Just talking. No researching, no preparing, no worrying ahead of time that you haven’t finished reading the book. The group will chat about a myriad of issues, ideas and topics, both outlandish and mundane—in the style of the old salon discussion groups—in a warm, friendly conversation format.
The only requirement for attending is an open, inquiring mind—and a good sense of humor wouldn’t hurt.
For starters, to stimulate discussion, topics will be placed in a hat and selected randomly.
Adults of all ages and walks of life are encouraged to join in the conversation, for conversation is the crux of the group.
The group will meet Thursdays at 2 p.m. starting Aug. 28.
