Rash sisters awarded scholarships 7.30

Two Fayette area 4-H members are among 10 winners of the 2008 Fulton County 4-H Endowment Scholarships.

Rachel Rash was chosen to receive the Biddle Scholarship for education students. She will attend Indiana Wesleyan University this fall and major in secondary mathematics education.

Trishton Rash earned the Biddle Scholarship for science and technology students. She attends Mount Vernon Nazarene University, studying biology and pre-veterinary medicine. She intends to study veterinary medicine at Ohio State University.

The sisters are both Fayette graduates and members of the Country Club 4-H group. They are daughters of Cale Rash, Jr., and Barbara Rash.

Other scholarship winners are Tim Short of Wauseon, Cook Memorial and Recognition Award; Jacob Gombash of Swanton, Clark Biddle Holstein Scholarship; Rusty Stechschulte of Wauseon, Clair Jones Memorial Scholarship and the Biddle Scholarship for Public Speaking; Bryce Stilwill of Pettisville, Biddle Scholarship for Continuing Education;

Gina King of Archbold, Biddle Scholarship for Medical Science and Technology; Joshua Bruner of Pettisville, Humbert Scholarship for Continuing Education; Jill Snyder of Delta, Humbert Scholarship for Continuing Education; Emily Schneiderbauer of Whitehouse, Horse Council Award; and Danielle Baker of Swanton, Horse Council Award.

Awards are based on students’ 4-H projects and experiences, community activities and long-range career goals.
