All-league players chosen 6.18

One Morenci baseball player and three softball players were named to all-TCC honor team.

League coaches chose Morenci senior Anthony Barron as a first-team infielder. Senior Steven Pontious was given honorable mention as an infielder.

Other first-team choices were:

Sophomores Rylie Robinson, Jesse Sexton and Stephen Cooley, junior Travis Houghton and senior Tim Snell of Clinton; sophomore Nick Marr and juniors Garrett King and David Hilliard of Sand Creek; junior Jake Ritzenthaler and seniors Dave Gust, Kyle Lievens, Joel Bratt and Joel Bunge of Whiteford; senior Jason Case of Britton-Deerfield; juniors Taylor Glass and Tyler Glass of Summerfield; senior Chase Mann of Madison; and seniors Bill Ramey and Justin Ketzner of Whitmore Lake.

Eddie Cousino was Morenci’s all-sportsmanship nominee and Barron and Devin Martinez were named to the all-academic team.

Morenci senior Brooke Barrett and juniors Nicolette Swimmer and Jade Pfund made the all-league softball team.

Other team members are sophomores Kristin Espinoza and Kelcey Baker and seniors Laura Heinz, Colleen Zimmerman and Erin VanWasshnova of Clinton; sophomore Caitlin Blanchard and juniors Jordan Ratliff and Heather Carlson of Summerfield; seniors Catherine Herriman and Lizz Wilson of Sand Creek; juniors Kelsey Hutchison and Kim Lambert and senior Emily Rush of Whiteford; senior Elizabeth Perez of Madison; and junior Lauren Houghton of Whitmore Lake.

Rachel Rutkowski was named to the all-sportsmanship team. She, along with Barrett, Pfund and Megan Cox, made the all-academic team.
