In announcing his award, OHA released the following information:

“For 40 years E. Dean Beck has provided distinguished service and leadership to Fulton County Health Center. Mr. Beck began his career at the Health Center in 1968 as their accountant/office manager and became hospital administrator in 1975. As administrator, he has led the facility through several changes in providing health care to the residents of Fulton and surrounding counties. Mr. Beck has guided Fulton County Health Center through four major expansions including new services, new facilities, a new nursing home, and bringing in new medical technology to the local area.

“Outside of the hospital, Mr. Beck has served as president of the Northwest Ohio Chapter of Healthcare Finance Management Association in 1977. He also held a variety of board and committee positions with the Hospital Council of Northwest Ohio, including past chairman of the board in 1982 and current nomination committee chairman. He also served on the OHA Small and Rural Hospital Committee from 1998-2001.”

“This is truly a pleasant surprise, and I am very honored to be selected from my peers to receive this award,” Beck said. “I want our residents to know that the success of our Health Center goes beyond my leadership and is the result of dedicated physicians, nurses, technologists, and many other health care professionals who serve in administrative and support staff roles.”

The Ohio Hospital Association was established in 1915 and currently represents 174 hospitals and 40 health systems throughout Ohio. OHA is a membership-driven organization that provides proactive leadership to create an environment in which Ohio hospitals are successful in serving their communities.
