Morenci’s monthly brush collection is complete, but when the next one rolls around, city supervisor Barney Vanderpool is hoping to see some changes.
Vanderpool said his crew made an exception this time due to the late fall, but for the remainder of the spring and summer, leaves and small brush should not be raked into the street. Collection of loose leaves is done only in the fall, due to time constraints.
Leaves and other plant material that can be composted should now be placed in boxes or bags and set at the curb.
Workers begin collecting material on the first Monday of each month, but any resident is allowed to haul their leaves or sticks to the area behind the city garage at the back of Wakefield Park. The entrance drive is located on Salisbury Street.
