The third bomb threat in less than two months was made at a Morenci school building last week. A 13-year-old girl is being lodged at Maurice Spears Campus, charged with making a false bomb threat.
As school was ending Thursday, a student reported to the middle school office that she read a bomb threat message that was written on a stall in the girls restroom.
The same girl later admitted to Morenci police officer Frank Cordts that she wrote the message.
Because it was at the end of the school day, dismissal of students continued as planned, said Morenci police chief Larry Weeks. Students staying after school for various reasons were asked to leave.
Police and school staff searched the school and found no bomb.
A 12-year-old boy was lodged at the juvenile campus March 5 after writing a threat on the back of an exam paper. No one has confessed to writing a threat on a bathroom stall in the high school boys restroom Feb. 29.
