A little spring cleaning could help the Fayette PTO earn money for the various school projects that the group supports.
The PTO is collecting items that will be offered for sale at the first Butterfly Kisses Spring/Summer Consignment Sale April 18-20 at the Williams County Fairgrounds in Montpelier.
The consignment sale is the first of two events this year organized by Michelle Boyd and Deanna Ankney of Stryker. Boyd is expecting the sale to be the biggest, most organized children’s resale event in the area.
Similar events are popular in Tennessee where she was previously living and she hopes the concept will prove successful here, too.
A fall/winter sale will follow in August or September.
Fayette PTO members are looking for clean, gently used children’s clothing though size 12, maternity clothing and children’s shoes that are in excellent condition.
Also needed is baby furniture and equipment, children’s bedding, lamps, mobiles, books, video games, toys and costumes—most anything relating to children.
Anyone who donates 10 or more items will obtain a pre-sale pass to shop the day before the sale opens to the public.
Up to 80 percent of money raised from items donated will be returned to the PTO.
Donations should be brought to the Fayette High School North Gymnasium lobby from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday or from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.
The sale is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 18 and 19, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 20, when items will sell for half price.
