A home-buyer education class is aimed at helping potential home owners get off to a good start.
Sessions are scheduled at 6 p.m. Jan. 14 and 16 at the Community Action Agency (CAA) at 400 W. South St., Adrian.
Participants will become familiar with terms they will encounter when buying a home, said Alison Prielipp of the CAA, and will learn about credit, financing and working with a real estate agent.
“We’re helping people to become more informed purchasers,” Prielipp said.
She’s hoping buyers will work through the details ahead of time so when it’s time to make the purchase, the process will go smoothly.
A real estate agent and a lender will attend the workshop to answer questions.
The CAA also offers free classes in financial management, covering topics such as budgeting, basic banking skills, credit, disputing credit reports, predatory lending and scams.
Prielipp wants participants to improve their credit rating and then maintain it.
Terms that are part of personal financial matters will be discussed.
