The famous “World’s Longest Yard Sale” used to stop at the Ohio River, stretching from Gadsden, Ala., to Covington, Ky.
That’s no longer the case for the 20th annual event Aug. 2-5. Another state and another 200 miles was added as Ohio joins Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama for a 127 Corridor extravaganza.
The Fayette Chamber of Commerce and Bullthistle Festival committee bought into the concept as a means of promoting the Fayette area.
Although US-127 doesn’t come into the village, Fayette is the closest community to the northern edge of the highway.
Organizers of the corridor sale—with headquarters in Jamestown, Tenn.—founded the event with the intent of proving that back roads have a lot to offer.
