Morenci school proposed budget 6.13

Posted in 2007 June

Morenci school district residents will have the opportunity to see the results of cost-cutting measures when the proposed 2007-08 budget is unveiled at a public hearing next week.

The annual hearing is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the middle school library, prior to the regular June board meeting.

With state aid holding firm through October, Superintendent of Schools Kyle Griffith said, the financial picture isn’t as bad as many people expected, but it’s unknown what will happen in the fall. Meanwhile, school districts are required to set a budget before revenue figures are established.
