Eventually we’ll get a season snowfall total from Morenci area climate observer George Isobar. If only it would stop snowing.
Any additional snowfall shouldn’t be significant, Isobar said, so he’s putting the total at 23.6 inches...and counting.
That’s about 14 inches below the long-term average for Toledo, Isobar said.
“Looking through the totals for Morenci over the past 30 years, I see four or five years in the upper teens and about that many in the lower 20s,” Isobar said, “so 23 inches isn’t unusual. Maybe disappointing for those who enjoy winter sports, but we’ve had plenty of similar winters.”
