Third grade students say 'Thanks' for dictionaries 2013.03.20

The Morenci Kiwanis Club has given away hundreds of dictionaries to Morenci third grade students since the annual project began in 2005.

Following is selection of the thank you notes received after this year’s Kiwanis members visit. 

 Dear Kiwanis, 

Thanks for the dictionary. I can look up stuff like exstraorary. It means amazing. I can’t find it thou.

Thank you for the dictionary. I apresheated it. I like to look up words I don’t know and spell them correctly. Also what I loved to see in a dictionary was I got to learn about the planets and sign language.

– Rachel

I’m so thankful for my Student’s Dictionary. I love it so much. It helps me with the Presidents, math, and my solar system. I think it was very thoughtful of you to get us these dictionaries. It also gives me lots of knowledge.

I loved the dictionary. I can get smarter and smarter. I will use it every day. I will take it home. I will tell my family about it! Now I can learn new words. My new dictionary is a blast.

Thanks for the dictionary. I like it. It is very cool. It talks about the world and all kinds of things. It’s so cool.

I love it very, very much. The first reason is because I can learn about all 8 planets. The second reason is that I can learn the A, B, Cs in sign language. The last reason is that I can learn more. The next thing I whant to tell you is that the dictionary helps me understand things. I need to tell you one last thing, I really love the dictionary.

I love my dictionary especially because I have my own. My mom and I love Sign Language so I took it home and were surprised. I learned so much.

Mrs. Borton’s class LOVE the dictionaries. I can learn many NEW things from the dictionary. I like the sign language. You can talk to deaf people. is there things for blind people in my dictionary.

Thank you for taking your time to come over here and give us dictionarys. We’ve been using them for our cursive papers. What we do is we look up words that begin with a certain later and we write it down in cursive and makes it easery to do that.

They are awesome dictionaries. Guss what I am reading about. The solar system–planets, the map and the presidents. Guss how old George Washington is. February 22, 1732. Guss how old William J. Clinton. August 19, 1946. Oh and thank you so so so much for the dictionaries.
