Phoenix Duncan won most of her high jump competitions when she jumped for Morenci Area High School, but she isn’t finished yet.

As a freshman at Siena Heights University, Duncan broke the school record of 5-7 Saturday and went on to take the lead in national NAIA standings with a leap of 5-10.

That was her goal when she went to the meet because she knew there was another jumper in the lead at 5-8.

She came close to making her third attempt at 6-1, but that will have to wait for another day.
