United Way thanks Morenci community 2012.11.07

Lenawee United Way recently hosted our annual “Small Business Blitz.” Many community volunteers visited businesses throughout our community asking for support for the 2012/13 Lenawee United Way campaign.

Lenawee United Way is working to advance the common good by focusing on education, income, and health–the building blocks for a good life. In fact, we have three very bold goals for our community. Our goals are to: Cut the number of high school dropouts in half, cut in half the number of lower-income families who are financially unstable, and increase by one third the number of youth and adults who are healthy and avoid risky behaviors.  With the help of our community, we can reach these goals, because we have to–for all of us!

The following businesses in Morenci pledged their support for a better community through Lenawee United Way during the Small Business Blitz: Borchardt Brothers Market, Maid for You, Morenci Fabricare Laundromat, Morenci Pub, Rural Urban Insurance, and State Line Observer.

Several other organizations in Morenci are also conducting workplace campaigns in support of Lenawee United Way. Some of those businesses include General Broach Co. and Morenci Area Schools. If you are a business or individual who would like to help advance the common good and support the 2012/2013 campaign, please call 517/263-4696 or e-mail [email protected]

Thank you to the Morenci community for your continued support of Lenawee United Way.
