1.3 million Ohio voters signed the petition to end SB5. Now after locking Ohioans out of the statehouse, and removing legislative members from committees who didn’t support his flawed law, Governor Kasich finally admits compromise is needed. A little too late, don’t you think?
If he really wants to restore trust, then it’s time for the legislators to repeal the law and begin anew. Kasich tried to split the ballot issue into pieces and confuse Ohioans by flipping the vote to repeal SB 5 from a “No” to a “Yes” vote—both of which are unconstitutional measures.
And I seem to recall Kasich’s confrontational words, “Get on the bus, or get under it.” Ohio’s public employees deserve better. Most have already been dealing with pay freezes and compromises. Now he wants to work together?
Tell Kasich, “No deal until you repeal the bill.”
If not, I’m going to vote “no” on Issue 2 to veto SB 5 on November 8.
